When should I contact an attorney?

The sooner you contact an attorney the better. Taking action quickly can protect evidence, ensure witnesses are contacted and help you better recall memories of the events that led to your legal action. Additionally, there are statutes of limitations for many legal actions.  A delay could jeopardize your ability to recover on a claim or defend against one.  If you think that you have a claim, or if you have been sued, you should contact an attorney as soon as possible.

I have decided to purchase and rent out a property to generate additional income and/or plan for retirement. How does it help to consult a lawyer?

Lawyers can provide valuable information to help protect both landlords in connection with residential lease agreements.  Many landlords enter into the world of investment properties without understanding the laws that apply to them.  I can provide advice on business structure, the contents of lease agreements, statutory notice requirements, etc.

How much do you charge for your services?

There is no charge to speak with me for an initial consultation. This gives you the opportunity to meet with me and determine if I am the right attorney for you. If after meeting me, you decide to hire me as your attorney, I will charge for fees at an hourly rate, a flat fee for representation, or by a contingency arrangement.  Our fee arrangement will ultimately depend on what is right for you.  In order to determine the best fee arrangement for your case, it is best to schedule a consultation appointment to discuss your case and the services I can provide to help you.  The facts and circumstances of each case are unique, but you will never be surprised by our fees. We will always discuss our charges prior to undertaking any work on your behalf.
